If you are willing to look hard you can find cheap Chihuahuas and sometimes even free Chihuahuas by using these techniques.

Look in the classified ads.  Many elderly people who are no longer willing or able to care for their dogs just want them to go to a good home, so they will often place classified ads. 

Or you could place a classified ad yourself and see if someone takes you up on your offer.  Say you will accept a free or a reduced rate dog and give it a good home.

Another place to look is pounds or shelters.  Often they might have the kind of dog you want.  If they don’t just kindly ask if they will keep an eye out for any Chihuahuas that come in and ask them to call your.  Or you could just go back and visit on a regular basis.

Post an ad at local vet clinics and pet stores.  Most of these places have bulletin boards that will let you place an add.
