Chihuahua Colors
Different Chihuahua Colors
Chihuahua colors are varied and many. Although some people
may say this, all of these colors are essentially variations of
tan.
In terms of color pattern there is solid colored, and some
have splashing or marking of colors.
The official patterns recognized by the American Kennel Club
(AKC) are piebald spotting, Irish spotting, sable, and
brin.
Most Chihuahuas are tan and the markings are normally white.
Other possible colors are black, brown, blonde, and white.
Chihuahua colors are determined by the coat colors of both
the maternal and paternal sides. It is impossible to predict
sometimes what color the litter of puppies will be because it
is a random genetic event.
