Chihuahua Shivering
Chihuahua Shivering Too Much?
Chihuahuas shiver all the time. For new Chihuahua owners it
can be distressing because you think that something is wrong
with your dog. However this is quite a normal thing for
Chihuahuas to do.
Most people think Chihuahuas shiver because they have a
large amount of energy to expend. This might be true.
Chihuahuas are small animals with very rapid metabolisms so
they have lots of energy to use.
Another reason Chihuahuas might be shivering is because of
excitement. Is there a new dog to play with or a new toy? This
is probably the most common reason why Chihuahuas shake. Other
dogs shake too when they get excited, but it is usually less
noticeable because they have thicker hair coats and a larger
layer of body fat over their muscles.
Chihuahuas shiver also because they might be scared. If
there is a big dog around, or a new adult in the house you
might notice your Chihuahua shivering. Again, this is a normal
reaction, and one that is seen in all types of dogs.
Chihuahuas may also shiver because they are cold. Chihuahuas
have small bodies, a low body fat level, and a thin hair coat,
so shivering is the easiest way for them to keep their bodies
warm. Everyone shivers when they are cold and it is quite
normal. Maybe your Chihuahua just needs a sweater.
If you are still concerned about your Chihuahua shivering
that talk to your veterinarian about the situation.
As you can see there are many ÔnormalÕ reasons why your
little Chihuahua might be shivering. As you can see there are
some ways that you can relieve Chihuahua shivering.
